Senate Wind Farm, Texas, USA 2018

Equinox were awarded the task of restoring 12 wind turbine nacelle hubs after severe damaged was caused to the shrouds (fiberglass panels) due to fallen ice from the turbine blades.

A team from our rope access/rigging division were deployed to Texas, USA to carry out the hub shroud (spinner panels) repairs.

The majority of the damaged shrouds were removed and replaced with new fiberglass shroud panels. All rigging tasks were carried out using our specialized rigging/rope access techniques and the use of Multi-Pod frames and "Harken" hoist devices.

Fiberglass repairs were carried out on the damaged fiberglass shrouds by our composite technicians onsite.

All 12 wind turbines were successfully restored and returned to full service.
